Looks Like Phil Was Right
Looks Like Phil Was Right! Every year, people across the country tune in to watch Punxsutawney Phil make his famous prediction on Groundhog Day. While some take it with a grain of salt, others secretly hope he gets it right. After this latest winter storm rolled through, it’s safe to say—Phil might have known exactly what he was talking about.
Just when many of us were starting to think spring was right around the corner, winter reminded us who’s really in charge. Snow piled up, temperatures dropped, and those early thoughts of green grass and warm sunshine were quickly replaced with shovels, salt, and heavy coats. It’s moments like this that make Phil’s prediction feel a little more believable.
In Wisconsin, we know winter doesn’t let go easily. A late-season storm is nothing new, but it still catches us off guard every year. Whether it’s icy roads, heavy snow on tree branches, or the need to clear driveways yet again, these storms are a reminder that winter can linger longer than we expect.
For homeowners, this kind of weather can also take a toll on your landscape. Heavy snow and ice can weigh down branches, sometimes causing damage that isn’t always visible right away. It’s a good idea to take a walk around your property once things begin to thaw and check for any broken or stressed limbs.
So while we may joke about a groundhog predicting the weather, this year Phil earned a little extra credit. Winter isn’t quite done with us yet—but that just makes the arrival of spring that much sweeter.
